Special Equipment

When your shipment is too large for a standard container, it must be shipped in a special container. Your Freight Worldwide offers numerous solutions for these special shipments.

Open Top Containers

Open Top Containers are primarily used when the shipment is too high to fit in a standard container or when the shipment needs to be loaded from above. Once the shipment is loaded, the container will be closed from the top with a tarpaulin.

When the shipment is higher than the container itself, it is referred to as OOG (Out of Gauge). Here too, the shipment is protected by a tarpaulin.

Hard Top Container

When you have heavy or large cargo to ship that does fit in a container but needs to be loaded via a top loader, a Hard Top Container can be used. With this container, the top is removed so that it can be loaded from above. After loading, the top will be replaced so that the container is closed again and can be handled as a “normal” container.

Flat Rack Containers

When a shipment is longer or wider than a container, a Flat Rack Container can be chosen. This is a low platform on which the shipment is loaded and secured. There is also the possibility to replace a number of walls and cover the shipment with a tarpaulin.

Reefer container

Reefer containers are containers that are transported at a specifically set temperature. Inside a container, it can become very hot or cold, depending on the ship’s route and the container’s position on the vessel.

Reefer containers are connected to the ship’s power supply so that they remain at a constant temperature. When these containers arrive in the country of destination, they will be plugged in again. We can also ensure delivery at a constant temperature by using a genset on the truck.

Non-Operating Reefer Containers

Sometimes there are products that must remain completely dry and where weather conditions (apart from heat and cold) have a negative impact on quality. Non-Operating Reefers can be used for these shipments. These are old Reefer Containers that no longer function but are completely airtight due to their original purpose.

Shipper’s Owned Container

In some cases, it is necessary to purchase a container yourself to ship your goods; these containers are then called SOC (Shipper’s Owned Containers).

If you already have a container, we can transport it for you to the destination. If you are looking for a container, we can advise you on the various options and arrange this container for you.

Food Grade Container

Containers are used for shipping almost anything. As a result, it sometimes happens that a container is not completely dry, clean, and odorless. For some products, this is necessary, such as food (unrefrigerated). To ensure that these products arrive at their destination with the right quality, there are Food Grade Containers. These containers are completely clean, dry, and odorless.

RORO solutions

RORO shipping (roll-on/roll-off) is a special type of transport. These cargoes are driven on or off the vessel. This is often used for vehicles or machinery with large dimensions or very heavy weights. The advantage is the fast method of loading and unloading, where the risk of damage is minimal. In addition, the shipment is protected from the elements.
